It may have been a shorter week due to the bank holiday however our week at Freddie’s started with a fantastic visit from Immersive Experiences with their planetarium. A trip to the stars and planets fitted in great with our “We are heroes”theme for the summer term. On top of that we have had birthday celebrations, rock music, outside play and wearing yellow to raise awareness for Wishbone Day. What a week and there’s still one more day to go! ... Humber Education TrustMusic Development Grant – Frederick Holmes School
Congratulations to Frederick Holmes School in Hull on receiving a Music Development Grant from The Stephen Hughes Foundation. We spent a super afternoon at the school yesterday as we presented the grant and outlined the work of our Charity to both children and staff in their assembly.
We presented a cheque for £403 following the school’s successful bid to fund the purchase of a PA system with microphones and stands plus handbells for school’s Open Orchestra. The aim is to improve pupils’ ability to play instruments, follow rhythm and perform collaboratively. As well as increasing participation, enjoyment and confidence in performing music.
The visit was extra special as it was our first grant presented to a special needs school in Hull and we were given a great welcome by staff and pupils. Well done to Danielle McHugh who constructed and submitted the successful bid, and for kindly giving us a tour of the impressive facilities at the school. ... See MoreSee Less
