The creative arts curriculum at Frederick Holmes includes music, art and drama. It is planned through whole school themes and key stage topics and the school is fortunate to have talented and creative staff who skilfully embed creative arts learning into the teaching themes and wider curriculum experience. Pupil’s work is evident in vibrant, interactive and colourful displays throughout the school, including large collaborative pieces.
Pupils take part in local arts and cultural festivals including Hull Colours of Music, New Paths Music Festival and the Royal Shakespeare School Project, all of which see pupils performing in front of a live audiences. Pupils benefit from numerous live performances in and out of school with musicians, dance companies and theatre groups. Pupils in Post 16 also have the opportunity to work towards a Performing Arts accreditation and participate in workshops at Hull Truck Theatre.
