The college centre students follow the ASDAB Towards Independence accreditation scheme.
The students in the college centre are provided with a personal curriculum that meets their abilities, needs and interests. As part of the personalised curriculum the students are offered the opportunity to participate in performing arts sessions to develop their confidence and skills.
The students are taught the basic skills of performing and begin doing this by acting out different emotions, using both body language and facial expressions.
They then progress to organising and performing short plays to small audiences. Students are also given the opportunity to be develop their artistic skills and be involved in the of making props and back drops to create the play scenes.
As part of the provision we offer, students working towards the performing arts accreditation have the opportunity to participate in theatre workshops at Hull Truck Theatre and mix with pupils from other schools within the MAT.
